To Our Friends at CieloBuio.

I regret not being able to be with you in Merate for your second meeting but I want tell you that IDA appreciates and recognizes your productive work against light pollution and your successes.
In particular, we note the very good and effective Law of Lombardia Region, n.17 of March 2000, which constitute an important step toward limiting light pollution in Italy. This accomplishment was noted at the IDA Annual Meeting in Tucson, AZ at the end of April, 2000 and we hope that other regions and cities will follow your example.

I look forward to seeing you at a future meeting, either in Europe or the U.S.

Donald R. Davis,
IDA Board President
